
Open Water Scuba Diving Course
The first gateway to your underwater world.

An introductory scuba diving course designed for those who wish to fully immerse themselves in the world of diving. Upon completion, participants will receive an internationally recognized scuba diving certification card, which allows them to dive anywhere in the world for life.

The course takes 3–4 days to complete and includes 3–4 hours of classroom theory, two confined water training sessions in a swimming pool or shallow sea (each lasting 1–2 hours), and four open water dives at depths no greater than 14 meters, each lasting approximately 40–50 minutes.

Instruction is provided by certified Diving Instructors from the Koh Talu Dive Center, accredited by Scuba School International (SSI).

The course and certification dives are conducted at Koh Talu Island Resort and/or Koh Talu Onshore Hotel (located at the pier on the mainland).

Study Program

Registration for a certificate (Digital Certificate Card) from SSI Institute
The SSI (Scuba School International) certification is issued by dive centers and instructors accredited by SSI, a diving organization in the International Recreational Scuba Training Council (WRTSC) that offers diving courses that are audited to ISO standards.
Those who have obtained the Openwater Diver certification can use it to show dive operators worldwide to dive to depths of up to 18 meters.
For those who will continue to study the Advanced Openwater Diver course for diving at deeper depths, they must have completed this basic course and have a card to use as proof.

Register (Sing in) by filling in personal information to open the membership system.

Click on the Dive Center menu and search for Koh Talu Dive Center, then click on Apply to be an Affiliate Dive Center (this step will link your membership system to Koh Talu Dive Center as a new student).
2 Days 1 Night Itinerary
first day

- Depart for Koh Talu, check in to accommodation.

Day Two

- Practical study in a swimming pool or in the sea, shallow water (1st time - Confine water 1)
afternoon
- Practical study in a swimming pool or in the sea, shallow water (2nd time - Confine water 1)
- Review the theory and take the theory exam.
Day Three
morning
- Practical examination in the sea, depth not exceeding 18 meters (1st time - Open water 1)
afternoon
- Practical examination in the sea, depth not exceeding 18 meters (2nd time - Open water 2)
- Practical examination in the sea, depth not exceeding 18 meters (3rd time - Open water 3)
Day Four
morning
- Practical examination in the sea, depth not exceeding 18 meters (4th time - Open water 4)
afternoon
16:00
- Return to shore by speedboat.

1. The study program may be adjusted according to the appropriateness of time management, weather conditions and marine geography.
